Download Software Benefits

  • You receive the software files directly on your computer via the Internet. The transfer technology always complies with the latest standards.
  • The software can be returned more conveniently.
  • A backup copy is available online at any time. This is helpful if your computer fails or the software needs to be reinstalled.


Software download and install

  • Log in to your Dynamics Project account.
  • Click the "Downloads" menu.
  • On the Downloads page, locate the Vision 8 product you purchased. Click Download.
  • In the download dialog box, click Run.
    Note: When you click Save, the downloaded software files will be saved to the following directory by default:
    C:\User\"User Name"\Downloads\
  • When the download is complete, click Install in the installation window.
  • When the download is complete, click Install in the installation window.

Download files and location

  • Why is downloading my software so slow?
    There are many factors that can affect speed, such as hardware problems or a poor Internet connection. If downloading is slower than usual, contact your Internet service provider to fix the problem.

  • Where are my saved files?
    By default, the downloaded software files are saved in the following directory:
    C:\User\"User Name"\Downloads\

  • How long are the software files available for download?
    The software files are available until Olav Treffurt IT Consulting discontinues general support for the product (usually three years after the product is released). For example, if you purchase V8 NAV SQL Studio, you can download the software from the Store until January 2017. You can still use the products after this date, but you will not be able to download them.


Installing the license

Where does the product license go?

The license is always located in the directory as "license.xml" / "publicKey.xml":

“C:\Program Files (x86)\Dynamics Project\Produktname\”

or

“C:\Program Files\Dynamics Project\Produktname\”

Before overwriting the existing license, you should save it and then copy the new license into the directory as "license.xml" / "publicKey.xml".


Remove installation files and uninstall software

Once the software is installed, you can delete the saved installation files. Removing the installation files does not delete the installed program.

  • Navigate to the folder where you downloaded the software installation files.
    By default this is:
    Downloads

  • Where are my saved files?
    By default, the downloaded software files are saved in the following directory:
    C:\User\"User Name"\Downloads\
  •  

  • Delete the installation files.

You can uninstall software that you no longer need. If you want to reinstall the software later and the product still has product support, you can download the files again from your Dynamics Project account.

  • Navigate to the folder where you downloaded the software installation files.
    By default this is:
    Downloads
  •  

  • Click Start, Control Panel, Programs, and then click Uninstall a program.
  •  

  • Select the program from the list and click Remove.
